yes I agree the rockers rust from the inside out too. I was just talking about floor rust. I have thought about trying your technique to keep the rockers dryer on the inside.

The other big problem area for 240s in Canada is the rear wheel well. The lip is like a shelf for mud and snow that keeps it damp all the time. Plus the well rusts out where it attaches to the floor around the shock mount. Why Volvo didn't make a plastic well insert like for the front fenders I don't know. I have a 740 insert in the garage I am going to see if I can modify to fit a 240, but I have not got around to it yet
