BAD MECHANIC??--MISDIAGNOSIS??? 444-544 1962

I am rebuilding a 544 and found that every piece of the linkage from the clutch pedal to the arm the throwout bearing was BADLY worn and had to be rebuilt. Bushings that support the crossarm (don't know the what Volvo calls it) had to also be replaced. If there is a lot of wear in the linkage connections the adjustment for the clutch would probably not allow you to set it properly.
I hope you didn't pay him, and if you did take the thief to court for ripping you off.
