AW72 - M46 Conversion question 900 1995

I'm in the process of converting my '95 940T from automatic to manual and I've run into a bit of a snag. I took the brake/clutch pedal cluster from an older 740 and the brake light sensor switch from the 740 is quite different from the one in the 940. The 740 one has two wire terminals on it wheras the 940 one has 4 and it's a different shape (square vs round) so won't fit in the hole on the 740 cluster.

I'm assuming that two of the wires going into the 940 switch are for the brake lights and the other two are for the computer system. Is that correct ?

If so, can I hook up the other two wires to the 740 switch and short the two computer wires together so the computer thinks it's ok and doesn't turn on some dash warning light ?

Thanks,

Roger
