Interior Door Handle Removal 700/900

Like the majority of 940s with tan interior, my door panels are in poor poor shape, and I don’t want to spend a lot of money to fix them nor have I been able to find a good used set in decent condition. I have found a set of very nice black panels from a 740. I think they will look okay with the tan since there is a lot of black in the car as it is. We’ll see.

Anyway…my question is how do I remove the plastic interior handle that is connected to the link rod (I think this is what it is called). I’ve tried prying and using a set of pliers to no success. Is there a screw hidden somewhere or do I have to remove the link rod from the donor car in order to get the handle and handle assembly off ?

Thanks
Jeff
