83 244DL Stalls while driving 200 1983

I had a similar problem L. I completely rebuilt my 1983 B23F harnesses with special ordered marine wire. (boat cable)

I needed to convert my 1977 264 to a redblock, and the motor I chose was the first I walked up to in the junkyard. I did not have a first or a second thought about it. Although I did not know much about the engines, I know now that the compression ratio is very high with the flat top pistons. Luck of the draw. The crankshaft turned by hand, and I started in.

I don't know about your harness, but mine was burned in half (almost). The convict wires were in league with the firewall interface. That fat gray plastic garbage. I chopped it off and have never looked back.

I expect though L, that your harness is in a prestine condtion. Just because if it were not, you would not be enjoying my response so far.

Larry, I had a problem with a relay, so I replaced it. The car behaved with an attitude, so I procured some latitude.

It just so happens that the relays sold at radioshack are made in Germany. I didn't go wild on a internet website like some ladies I know, instead, I plugged the Radioshack bugger right in. I have not had a problem since.

You might try it sometime.

Cheers,
Goatman
