Will find out tomorrow, but my bit of research this evening on the subject says you are onto something, especially since the inner tread of the tires has worn more than the outside... possibly made worse by the rubber compound getting harder due to the much lower temps! I'll let you know!

BTW, the Model T was one of the first off road vehicles (before roads existed), they had tall skinny tires and did a great job, so I understand your history lesson!
