'90 740 hissing behind glovebox on acceleration 700 1990

I am getting a hissing sound under the dash, behind the glovebox.
It presents at diferent times, but mostly when I accelerate.
I removed the glove box to look around but could not indentify the exact source.
I also look under the hood for an obvious vacuum line failure but the arctic cold prevented a complete look.
I also have some drivability issues that may be related.
OBD gives an Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor error that I have still not resolved. It used to Idle high with poor acceleration. After the sensor was replaced it idled normaly but will stall immidiatly after startup and will run to weak to put in gear for a few minutes, then runs well enough. OBD still gives the same error with the new sensor but the engine clearly runs different now.
Ideas?
