Idiot lights on too long srs on constant 200

I just bought a 90 240 with an automatic transmission. It drove nice and tight, the transmission felt allright and the shocks were good. Paid $1000 but later on after starting the idiot lights stayed on too long and then went out after about seven seconds. Thinking back but they usually go out right away as the car is started. They seemed to go out as I revved up the car after starting and driving away. When i bought it the srs light was on and still stays on. It was for the airbag system and i am not concerned about it not working. From reading other posts I figured out that it is maybe a wire, specifically the small red wire on the alternator, or the alternator is bad. I will replace the belts tomorrow and see if the old belts were loose or very worn. I have a friend that is good with a multimeter to test the alternator system. Then later on in the night i let it sit for an hour then i went out and started it up and the idiot lights went out normally, i even turned the highbeams on and turned up the heater blower to high, didnt seem to affect anything. Any comments. I think thats about it.
