auto trans question 140-160 1973

I don't reckon you'll find many fans of auto trannys in old Volvos here... excepting those who have no choice...

It's real hard to say from afar, but I bet you are dropping a cylinder at idle when it's got the small load of the torque converter at idle...

a 164 engine shouldn't drop that low. I'd still bump that idle up a hair...

And maybe start with a compression check. Then find the bits you need to do a 4 speed/OD conversion. You will love that car with a manual box
