Ignition - Almost 444-544 1958

Tonight I compared the distributor that came on my dad’s Volvo with the one currently on the 444 and realized that the current one is 90 degrees off (clockwise). So I moved the ignition wires 90 degrees counter-clockwise and guess what? I now have combustion out of the exhaust instead of backfiring from the intake! It didn’t fire although it really sounds like it wants to! I’m going to get some more gas tomorrow morning and charge up the battery real good. Hopefully it will start soon! Wish me luck!!
