Changing over to Synthetic oil? 200 1985

My 1985 245 has always been serviced at the reccomended interval. I have always used Castrol GTX oil. I am considering changing over to either Mobil 1, or Castrol Syntec oil. Will there be a problem with doing this? The car has just over 100,000 miles, and is going into the Volvo garage for a major service soon. I would like some input on this please. Thanks,
