Fixed by Installing Original Dizzy... What about my milage? Which replacement Unit? 120-130

Well, the good news is that pulling the modified dizzy and unhooking the allison unit restored by ignition system. I'm glad to have a working car again, but I wonder what my mileage will be like now?

Does the coil, or the ignition system (points vs. electronic) have the greater influence on the mileage?

Yes, I know there are more factors at play, but assuming those are constant, will simply going back to points drop my mileage back to where it was (16 mpg) ?

My morning adventure ate a lot of fuel. I left the house with a solid 5/8th, and a few miles later, I had dropped to slightly under 1/2 a tank.

Something went very wrong with my Allison unit...

I do not want to stick with the points for too long, does anyone recommend a crane over a pertronix unit? Which is easier to use and setup, which is a better deal, which lasts longer?
