Out of the picture for a while... 444-544

Hi everybody!

Just a quick note to let you all know that I'm not ignoring the board, just haven't been able to read the little tiny letters.

Two months ago my eyesight was fine, then one morning I thought that I had some goop or something in my eye, as it wouldn't focus and looked for all the world like someone had smeared Vaseline across my eye.

I went to see my doctor, and she thought it might be a cataract, although I'm not nearly old enough to be in the normal target group for this affliction.

The Ophthalmologist told me that it was a 'sudden onset' cataract, and that both eyes were occluded.

I went in for surgery on Tuesday, the 8th. Before the surgery my vision was 20/200.

One day post surgery I have 20/30 vision in my left eye, and that will improve in the next few weeks.

When my left eye heals completely (about 6 weeks) they will fix the other eye.

In the meantime, I'm back whenever I can manage to get the eye shield off for a few minutes.

Steve in So. Calif
