my '89 245dl has nonABS solid disc fr brakes..... 200

is this normal?...or maybe just the way it was ordered?....or somebody changed calipers over the years?

I lost a brake caliper mounting bolt Saturday, and while calling the nearby dealers to get a replacement bolt several parts guys told me that my set-up i snot normal, and that the car shoudl have vented rotors.

The original window sticker -- yes I have that :-) -- reads:

"four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes dual triang/split brake circuits w/step bore mastr cyl"

I was wondering if this set-up was normal. Maybe because it's a wagon w/ 5spd manual?

THX,
John

btw: all the dealers from Raleigh to Greensboro did not have a bolt, had to order some in @ $.96 ea + shipping etc....found a temp used one at a Volvo specialist shop accross town...guy wouldn't let me pay for it either...spent 10 min picking out a good one for me when he could have been wrenching on an 850 that was in his bay....
