65 122 hard brake lines 120-130

I am replacing the hard brake lines on my 65 122 2 door. The passenger side line from the brake block to the brake hose runs up and over the battery box down the side of the fender and across the inner fender to the brake hose which makes the hard line about 7 feet long. All of the bends are tight and neat and fit tightly to the body and are held in place with the factory clips. I have purchsed new hard lines from VP autoparts and the passenger line is only 3 feet long. They looked the parts up based on the chassis number for an early 65, the diagram they sent me shows a short line that is routed much more directly to the brake hose. Is my long (7 foot) line correct or has it been re-engineered in the past? Which is correct?
Thanks,
