Who Built It 120-130

Most of the news on the 1968 model year sold in the USA concerned the interior and was dominated by features to increase occupant safety. The list is long, but includes the knee protection pad, rounded off knobs and handles, anti-reflex painted parts, headrests, four-way emergency flasher, etc. To my knowledge, these features were driven by legal demands. Volvo also increased the price of a new 122S in 1968 to compensate for these features. They were not available at all or only available as accessories on other markets. The ignition was moved to the steering wheel pole in 1969, but this was a popular rebuild that you will find on many older model years aswell. The nose chrome, chromed rain gutters are gone on the 1969 and 1970 model years, as is the door pockets on the two door. Last model year for the Estate was 1969. Last model year for the four door was 1967. More details in the link above.

Sweden last fought in a war in 1809 when we lost Finland to Russia. The King was relieved of the Crown and sent abroad. He was last seen looming around in continental Europe presenting himself as Colonel Gustafsson.

Best regards,

Fredrik
