SRS Steering Wheel replacement - Interchange? 200

The cover on my 92 245 wheel is split open. The bag doesn't look to have been deployed but I don't know for sure.

Removal of the wheel is seems easy (per threads here): two torx bolts on the back remove the air bag; 27mm socket to remove the center nut.

I have good wheels from an 85 and an 87. Will either work? Any issues with just replacing the SRS wheel with an older one?
