hard start/poor idle in cold weather 900 1995

Hi All,

I have a '95 945 that hasn't been starting for the last week or so (its been below 0F for most of the week). I attributed the poor start to cold weather, but now that its way up to 25F today, I have to discount that theory. The car, and RWD Volvos in general, are new to me. Beyond cleaning out the intake, replacing the spark plugs, and replacing the air filter, what else should I troubleshoot?

The specific symptoms are the following: the engine turns over just fine, and if the car has sat for a while (and the air temperature is above 20F) the engine will catch and idle really roughly for 5 seconds. At this point the engine dies, and will not start up again unless I leave the car alone for 30 minutes or so.
