regina ECU 700 1991

My 1991 740 has a very intermittent stalling/stumbling problem that I have been battling for several years. Recently it has gotten a lot worse and it now affects me almost every day. I have checked/cleaned/replaced every relay and sensor on this car. Nothing has helped. I am ready to try a new ECU.

Can someone tell me what regina/bendix ECUs are interchangable?

My 1991 ECU has a label with volvo part 3531658 and bendix part S101590102A.
A 1994 in the family has a label with volvo part 6842882 and siemens part S101590202A. Are these parts interchangable? Would I blow up the 1994 ECU by trying it in my 1991?
