Intermittent Engine Smoke 940 Turbo

My engine has recently been starting to smoke, about every 15 to 20 minutes while driving or idling. It appears to be coming from the front-of-car drivers side of the engine. I have to open windows each time the smoke starts. The engine is pretty oily in that area, but I cannot see any actual dripping.
Any thoughts please ?
