740 oil pan 700

I admired Art Benstein's terrific photo essay about dropping a 240 oil pan
at www.cleanflametrap.com (one of many excellent subjects for those who don't know)
Perhaps someone can comment about the possibility of dropping the pan by raising
the engine more? Art thought that the fan might smash the radiator, but it's
easy to get off. Maybe someone knows how high you need to get the engine and
what needs to be done up top. Without a lift, it's worth looking at raising
the engine and it can be that a pair of supports such as Art used, on the front and rear engine hoist rings might make it easy to raise the engine?

As a side point, I understand that the passenger side Motor mount gets
trashed prematurely as a result of oil spills from changing the oil filter.
Does anyone have a fix for that?

Thanks, Bill
