Nevermind, GOT IT! 120-130 1968

I have no idea where your black dipper wire came from. My '68 122 doesn't have one, and the wiring diagrams I have don't show one. I'd guess that someone added this to your car sometime in the past. Maybe they got fancy and stuffed it into the harness sleeve to make it look more original? Not sure. You could test it to see if it has power and/or is connected to ground... but if everything works without it, you might just leave it be.

When I was at ipd, a fellow called one day with wiring problems in a '65 544. I think his tail lights had stopped working, and he wanted to know where to start. No sooner did I have a wiring diagram in hand than he told me that he'd rewired the WHOLE CAR using ALL RED wiring. Every wire that led to the rear lights and every wire to the front lights, signals, horns and fusebox was now red. Whoa. Be glad you're not in same boat he was!

Best,
