20th Birthday for my 1988 200 1988

20 years ago, February 7, 1988, I bought my light blue metallic 240DL. I had power windows and cruise added before I picked it up. With 12 miles on the clock I drove it home. My kids were taken to school every day in it, and although they called it a breadbox and said it wasn't cool, I still have it while they've moved out and gotten married. I still drive it to work almost every day. North Carolina car all his life, so no rust whatsoever, still shines, annual waxing about a month ago. Too many brake jobs to remember, a new master cylinder, and very little else cost wise since. Normal maintenance with the biggest being the flame trap and breather box clean out. Still cold air with R12. Approx 230K on the clock - I lost some mileage when the speedo stopped working awhile back, but only a couple of weeks worth. Gonna need the blower fan replaced within the next year, but otherwise I roll every day. The thing seemed to have a little perk in the step realizing his 20th was today. R2
