Go to the hardware store and ask for a expanding rubber plug, It will have a brass washer on both ends and the side that faces out will have a nut on it. find one that slides in without to much play, tightening up the nut will expand the plug and seal up the hole.
I believe the hole is there for an electric fan temp sensor, you dont need it on your car.
