Hood Hinge Broken 200 1993

Hello All,

Vertical part of the driver's side hood hinge is broken. The other side is OK for now. PO owner never lubricated doors, hood, etc. Springs are in place as are the other two "arms" and with some help the hood can be raised and lowered. However, it juts up about 3" to 4" at the driver's side front when shut. The hood catch seems to be working fine. I have a 150 mile trip to get it home so before I have an "accident" or worry the entire trip, I figured I ask for some help/suggestions.

Do you think this is OK? Should I (try to) remove the springs? Any other ideas? I noticed that spring removal (on one of my other 93's) doesn't look that easy, even when the hood is up, but it was 15 degrees and I didn't feel like evaluating the situation too long. Would I want to remove the double spring?

Thanks much all for letting me in our your knowledge.
