water pump removal 700

Hi there - i have an '87 740 turbo with 270k miles and my water pump started to leak - i actually had steam coming out this morning. Anyway, i removed so far all the bolts that hold the pump in place and the pump is loose, but i can't get the heater pipe out of the pump. I checked FAQ, but i didn't understand it or it wasn't described. So now i am stuck and hope i get an answer here how to get the red pipe out of the pump?!? ;-) Is there any trick to do it?
Thanks in advance - brickboard is great, it always solved my problems so far!! ;-)
