I did a nationwide city by city search on craigslist last fall and found the car that I wanted in Alameda, CA. I found that most of the good 122s were in Washington and California. I was looking for a wagon, and they are far less plentiful than the 2 door and 4 door sedans, so finding what I wanted was difficult. I found that there are usually only 2 or 3 122s at a time on eBay, while dozens were listed on craigslist. craigslist is much more difficult to search than eBay but there is more to be found on craigslist. I know that Volvo George (the guy who I bought mine from) was and maybe still is trying to sell probably 40+ Volvos.
