One Note.. 444-544

Hello,

The aftermarket PV door seals you have mentioned are already on my list. And unfortunately, I have not seen a suitable replacement. This seal could easily be reproduced correctly. All that is needed is a good sample to make a mold. But someone would have to step up and pay to have an extrusion mold made and then the extruded bulk seal cut and glued together. The cash outlay is substantial and the few people that have done similiar things wind up with a large stock of the reproduced part and the VERY lengthy process of selling the remaining product. The former owner of Foreign Auto Tech told me years ago about the batch of reproduction speedometer drive gears he had made for "D" style overdrives took him over 10 years to sell. When the supply ran out and I asked him to have more made his response was to laugh and say an emphatic NO! Back then Duane wanted $35.00 for the gear, now GCP is asking over $60.00 and Scandcar wants $90.00!!

Please be patient, I am still preparing a detailed list of the defective parts I have encountered whilst working on Volvos.
