power shut down 200 1989

Ok so Ijust replaced both battery cables and starter alls good for a few days then... the car shuts down as I am driving along I mean everything went black, lights radio ect so pulled over into a side street and turn the key and the car resumed to run as if nothing had happened,so continued to work and everything was good for a couple more days then It happened again this morning same symtoms so raised the hood and checked the connections coming from the battery, all seemed good, pulled the fuse that is on the side wall behind the battery checked that, seemed good but I think there might be a loose connection coming from the battery to the fuse panel or something like that cause when I first tried to restart the car I had NO POWER what so ever until I messed with the wires coming off the battery So WHERE DOES MY PROBLEM LAY? FUSE OR WIRING ?
