I have an 82 242GLT B23E - did the same thing.

I would first check your distibutor for corrosion on the points...
if there is gunk on these points it can have the same effect. scrape it off with a small flathead screwdriver.

Especially in the morning, the gunk can hold moisture (condensation) and untill it warms up and evaporates...poor low rpm power - due to very weak spark
