Signal Lenses in Dishwasher 120-130

My 1968 130 came with a nice little trove of spare lenses and trim rings in the trunk. Trim rings are easy to clean, but the old cruddy lenses with all the little nooks and crannies were nearly impossible to clean.

Since these are "spares" and that they take a seasonal road punishment, I decided to take the risk of putting them on the top-shelf of the dishwasher. I was only brave enough to run them for the 15 minutes of the cycle.

With the exception of some deep crud between the amber and white sections, they came out *very* clean - almost new looking.

So my question is how many of you have tried this? Has anyone run lenses through a full DW wash?

On a similar note, how have people gone about restoring the surface of these lenses? Has anyone tried the approach mentioned in the 700/900 FAQ?
