Too bad about your car. Also too bad it wasn't a few weeks ago---then I could have cut you off a perfect quarter panel from the one I crashed on the ice, but it has already gone for scrap metal. I would have let you have it real cheap too, though shipping from VA might have upped the total quite a bit.
How are you without transportation?? It still looks perfectly driveable to me---if the rear side window is broken, either get one from the junkyard or cut a piece of plexi to fit, and you're good to go, at least until your inspection runs out.
As for the question of illegal immigrants, that discussion more properly belongs in the OPINIONS section, but here's my two cents: Yours is a perfect example of why EVERYONE, including illegals, should be allowed/required to get a drivers license and insurance if the are going to operate a motor vehicle. Bad enough that they're here illegaly, we don't need them on the road illegally too. That whole business of the "Real ID" act is A TOTAL LOAD OF CRAP, and, even if it had been in place in 2000, it would have done NOTHING WHATSOEVER to have stopped the 9/11 hijackers, as they were here legally, on student visas, learning to fly airplanes or something, and therefore were fully entitled to obtain a drivers license in the state they were residing in. All that "Real ID" is any good for is making your state taxes go up, like any other unfunded federal mandate (estimated cost---$15 Billion) and helping implement the surveillance state that is the neo-cons' dream.
At any rate, there will soon be a lot fewer illegals, as the housing market downturn gets worse and the construction jobs continue to dry up. As money gets tighter, more people will cut their own grass, instead of paying a Mexican to do it, etc, etc.
I do agree that illegals should be held without bond if charged with a crime (or causing an accident, while unlicensed/uninsured) and deported promptly upon conviction. Its debatable whether or not they should have to serve a jail sentence (at US taxpayer expense) or just be sent home and prohibited from ever coming back.
