1989 240 dl clutch problems.

i have a 1989 240 dl with 245 thousand miles on it. i recently purchased the car. i learned how to drive stick on it about two weeks ago, and since then have been driving almost constantly. i was driving to my local gas station today and after i shifted gears my clutch pedal depressed all of the way to the floor but didnt engage. its currently stuck depressed down. i tried just pulling it up, but obviously that didnt help. i jacked up the car and it seems that the clutch line needs to be tightend maybe?? but i noticed this block that holds the cable to the clutch arm ( i think thats what its called) is flopping around. any ideas??
