740 cold running problem 700 1986

i have a 1986 740 GLE non turbo with 204,000 miles. When you first start the car it starts fine but will not run, acts like it is flooding out for about a mile and a half. Then it just starts running fine. If I let it warm up for about 10 minutes it does ok. Does not get great gas milage. I have changed the Air mass sensor and EMC with good used ones but problem persist. My car does not seem to have a starter injector. What is my problem?
