Dumb question, but I have to ask 700 1987

Hi guys,

As the title of my post states, I have a basic question I hope you can answer.

If you want an accurate reading on your tranny fluid, when's the best time to do it? Hot, cold, in gear, etc.? Checking my tranny fluid when cold, the dipstick tells me that I'm overfilled, and I suspect this is a false reading.

Thanks! I'll get the hang of this soon...!

Ari
