Hi all
1991 940SE turbo. I am trying to resolve idle issue as car vibrates/shakes at idle regardless of engine temperature. I have done most of the work suggested but to no avail. Today I tried to check the timing. See what I found:
1. Harmonic Balancer/pulley mark aligns with the mark on the timing cover at 0 degree when cylinder 1 is at TDC.
2. Camshaft pulley mark align with the mark on the timing cover.
Issues seems:
1. The slotted ring from which the crank position sensor reads timing, has one solid space which is not slotted. Question is that at TDC where this unslotted part is supposed to be. For this car it moves around 14 slots towards the starter at TDC.
2. The cam lobes when looked from the oil filler cap, very Ist towards the timing belt is at 1 O'clock position and the 2nd is at 9 O' clock position.
3. The rotor is pointing somewhat towards the spark plug 1 wire at the cap and I am not sure where it is exactly supposed to be.
Please advise for the 3 issues as I am running out of ideas to resolve the engine vibration/shaking issue.
Thanks as always and sorry for the long post.
