The concensus on this board is 'thumbs up' for HEPU. And there's the matter of belt tension .... 200



Interesting. What evidence is there that OEM pumps used to be manufactured by Hepu? Are they stamped Hepu in the casting? No point of manufacture marked on my original water pump on the '90 245. Granted the Hepu pump impeller *looks* more like the original pumps than the new Volvo replacements.

The pumps definitely have changed over the years. The original pump on my '90 was a big heavy thing. The blue box replacement was a bit less so. Impeller is different as well.

I have heard several cases of Hepu's blowing bearings occasionally within a year of installation, and by people who don't overtighten belts, so it does happen, though not that often.
