New O2, now idles rough.... 200

Purchased new Bosch 3-wire exact fit O2 sensor from Groton, installed it, immediately after installation engine now idles very rough all the time, and check engine light now comes on. Never had any trouble with that light before this. Digital voltmeter on O2 lead while plugged into computer reads only .05 volts(not .50) all the time. Heater wires on sensor have 2.3 ohms which is ok, and heater wire harness from car has 12 volts. If I unplug O2 sensor wire to computer, idle is immediately smooth.

I did not make any other changes or adjustments at the time I did the O2 sensor replacement.

Has anyone else had this problem with new O2 sensors, and if so, what solved it?
