separating front driveshaft from carrier 444-544 1958

Hi all, has anyone had problems seperating the front drive (propeller) shaft from the carrier bearing assembly (58 444)? I have removed the screw and washer that holds the spline into the carrier bearing assy. and its flange but the spline seems to be stuck tight. I would like to get the front drive shaft out of the car for measurements and in order to replace the front U-joint on the bench.
I know that the bearing itself must be pressed off but I am just trying to remove the front DS from the carrier assembly and out the front of the car.
Is there a tool to separate the splined end of the shaft from the flange?

TIA & Cheers!
