OK, I haven't checked the plugs since a couple months ago, but I will when I get some time, maybe this weekend or tomorrow.
I did cover the hole on the fpr hose to prevent a vacuum leak. I could have a leak someplace, but I've handled and cleaned the intake boots and the little one from the intercooler to the metal intake hose is like a year old. I haven't seen any leaks there.
I actually pulled the vacuum hose and plugged the end with a screw (not ideal, but hey). With it like this, the engine seemed almost the same as with the hose attached. I was able to drive it and I noticed it shuddering at idle the same way.
Other than the idle shudder, it seemed totally driveable and drove with the same power as 'normal'. I don't know if the car should be able to run like that, I just think it's bizarre that it acts as though the FPR doesn't matter either way. I propped the idle pulley open a bit (love my leatherman!) and the idle went from 1300 with the hose on to 1500 with it off. I think I left the hose open though, have to recheck that. Also going to borrow a hand vacuum pump tomorrow.
I checked the O2 sensor voltages (the sensor now seems to go all the way to .9V, maybe I just didn't catch it before) and they seemed to stay at the extremes a little longer with the hose disconnected.
The actual exhaust was damp with the hose disconnected, and was the same way with the hose connected, though it could have been leftover from the hose being off.
