Did the Sachs Advantage rear shocks get a redesign? 200

I got a pair installed and was somewhat disappointed by how puny they looked in comparison to the cheap yet beefier Monroe Sensatrac that were replaced. Rather than having a tube-like boot sleeve, the SA shocks I received have a skinny accordian soft plastic boot sleeve. Also, unlike what I've read, these SA are made in France and not Germany. What gives? I'm not really complaining, as they seem fine and in fact I even noticed a smoothness over bumps and especially those dotted speed bumps.

I will do the front at some later point. I've been quoted from $370 to $455 on front strut replacement wheras the rear was from $225 to $300. I know, the rear is a cakewalk, but I don't think I could have done it on my own.
