fuel filter help! 700

I just tried replacing the fuel filter on my '90 760 Turbo. I was trying to remove the bolts where the fuel line enter the fuel filter. Well my buddy and I were trying to loosen them and we heard some movement. Afterwards the fuel starting dripping out. My worry is that maybe something is broken. Or is the fuel filter just leaking slowly? There is already a little over 2 cups worth in the bucket. If I broke something is there a way to prevent all the gas from leaking? We don't have an impact wrench, and now we cannot remove the bolt with the gas dripping out. Any help would be immensely appreciated! Thanks, -Mark
