Oil recommendations 700 1987

Hi folks,

I think the BB has had some trouble this evening. My Web Geek senses are tingling. ;)

I will change my oil (for the first time! Yikes!) soon. What motor oils do naturally aspirated B230s like? I would like to do a full synthetic, since I think this engine has been neglected lately.

I understand that after switching, the gunk (and there *is* gunk!) in the engine will all get loosed up and get in the oil filter, and will make it necessary for me to replace the filter. How is that done? With the oil in? Cold or warm?
