Service Light Problems 700

Thanks to all for the help! I did finally figure out that I was not pushing hard enough … by accident. I went back out and tried with a punch and kept on pushing the 1/8" or so that it moves prior to the click. I was assuming that, with that much motion that it must be some sort of soft switch like on a watch. In frustration I started pushing it over and over and then … CLICK!

I was certain that I had busted the knob of the switch. But I had the car running at the time and the light did indeed go out. Since I was not sure that it had not just gone out normally I kept fiddling and it clicked again. So I turned of the car and restarted and it is OFF. Praise be to the Volvo Gods. That little thing is an annoyance for certain!

I agree with the posters who suggested pulling the bulb. Thanks to all who took the time to respond!
