Fuel pump relay buzz after key removed ? 200 1990

1990 240 200k mileage. Car given to me for no start. Replaced the ECU with a known good one. Car starts and seems to run fine. However when ignition turned off, and key removed, the main Fuel Pump runs for a few seconds, shuts off, and then the fuel pump relay begins buzzing. It stops only when removing the negative battery cable. I reconnect the battery cable and all is good again. I read all previous questions and threads and have checked what I think are the obvious. Thoughts? Thanks, Jim
