Deleting cruise control 200 1989

My newly acquired 89 244 has cruise control, which is not operational at present. I intend to remove it, as it is not something I would make use of, even if it did work. My question concerns the vacuum lines. There is a nipple on the intake manifold, about 3/8" diameter, with a 4" long piece of hose, then a check valve, the other end of which is maybe 1/8" (normal vacuum line size) The hose that comes from this has a couple of tees in it, with hoses that go to various ports on the cruise module, some of which have fallen off and are now vacuum leaks. Then there is a hose that disappears into the firewall on the passenger side. I am assuming this is the one that powers the heater controls. can anyone confirm this? Do I just connect this hose to the check valve and get rid of all the rest of it? There is yet another hose that goes from the cruise module to the interior of the car, on the drivers side, presumably to the vacuum switches on the brake and clutch pedals. I wil eventually get rid of all that stuff too, and the ECU, and swap the turn signal/dimmer switch for a regular one, but for now, I just want to know if the hose to the RH firewall is indeed the one for the heater controls, and should I connect it directly to the manifold check valve?
