Battery Drain 700

I have a battery drain. It is intermittent. I thought that it was the dome light assembly and removed it. It was coming on while I was driving, even though it was set to only come on when the door opened. So I thought that it might be coming on while I was asleep.

I have had no problems since removing the light.

Tonight I tried to start up. Locks worked fine; always a good sign when worried about a dead battery.

Turned the key and just about nothing. Turned off everything and tried again; even less juice.

After swearing under my breath I tried once again and it *barely* went "rrrrrr… rrrrrr…rrrrrr…" with about a full second between each attempt of the starter motor trying to turn the red block over. And then it started to "rrrrrr" a little faster. And then it started to sound more like a weak battery (rather than a dead one). And then it caught! It was as if the battery came back to life.

Anyway, I am assuming that one of my door lock servos is sticking and draining down the battery. On the chance that it is simply a door lock servo plunger getting stuck, is there a TEMPORARY method of disabling the auto lock system? I want to be able to turn this feature back on if I determine that it is something else. I also want to try to isolate each door to try to locate the offending unit before removing anything.

If this is NOT possible then how do I just disable it completely? I can deal with manual locks. It is an 18 year old car after all, and reliable starts are more important than the ability to lock or unlock all the doors at one time. I just would like to be able to keep as many original features working as possible. I currently do not have an AC (leak) and do not want to have to cross one more item off o the lest of stuff that makes this a neat car to drive.

Now, after running a search and reading a lot of stuff in the archives here AND witnessing this unusual, miraculous "battery resurrection" I am left wondering: Could it be something else entirely? I have never seen a battery that was this drained get STRONGER as I tried to start the car.
