IPD 700/900 remote unlock kit 900

I bought the IPD kit and installed as per instructions on my 1993 945T and can't get it to work. There are a couple of problems to it.

1. The bars aren't bent right. The tension is too great on the two extra bars installed to allow the actuator motor to work.

2. The remotes only work for the lock button. If you push the lock button you can visibly see the actuator motor struggle to push/pull. With the unlock button, you hear a click from the crimestopper box, but the motor doesn't do anything.

Ideas? How am I supposed to bend the two bars that they give to make it easier?
