Sending unit arrived today. 200 1985

The new sending unit and adaptor arrived today from E-Gauges, Part # 360-009 for the sender, and R7963 for the adaptor for the BF 230 engine. The installation was straightforward. The adaptor screws into the block with a sealing o-ring. The thread is 14X1.5mm. The gauge is 1/8"NPT. I did not use any sealer on the threads, since the ground path is through the threads, and once the adaptor was finger tightened, I was able to use a socket and snug it up to the block. The sending unit was hand tightened, and then from underneath, I used a 17 mm open end wrench to tighten it up. I did not need to use any angle adaptors, and there is plenty of clearence for the alternator, and the oil filter. The original sending wire had to be cut and a ring terminal installed. The Idiot light wire goes to the WG terminal, and a new wire was made up and connected to the G terminal. I routed the wire along the harness for the ignition system to the passenger side, and back through the shock tower and into the harness boot for the engine harness. Once inside the car, I routed the wire over the console stack, and installed a spade terminal connector. This connected to the sub harness that was with the 3 gauge pack when I bought it. The other 2 gauges (Volts, and absolute pressure) had already been connected earlier. The car idles at 3 bar, and on the highway at 65 MPH holds a little above 4 bar. I appreciate all the information that was found here on the Brickboard once again.
