Lost key 200 1993

Hello folks. My daughter lost her only remaining key today, with her car 10 miles away. A neighbor who is in the local Volvo club says that if I give the dealer the VIN, they might be able to make a key. Which would save the $125 cost of sending a locksmith. My window for deciding what to do will be small in the morning, so I thought I'd ask here if anyone knows whether that will work or whether there's a similar solution, using just the VIN and proof of ownership. There's a small chance another key is in the locked car but the windows are up tight. Manual is in the car so I don't have key ID info.

And let this be a lesson to keep spares -- not just on the hook on the wall, but some place out of the way, for times like this. I know I've learned that lesson now. Thanks as always.
